We interviewed Chris Harris, our dedicated, approachable, and funny Carrier Sales Manager, to learn more about his journey at Xpress Technologies.

What does an average day in your role look like?

The beauty of my job is it’s ever-changing. Sure, we have some daily tasks that we use to set ourselves up for success, but what I love is finding solutions to the challenges that just pop up. We have the power to be game-changers for both our customers and carriers. I have the ability to supply much-needed capacity to our customers and then help others use our carrier network to fill it. People helping People.

What gets you up in the morning?

I love my job and the people I do it for. My team is like my family.  I would go to war for them, and I know they would do the same for me. If that doesn’t put a smile on your face, then what will?

What is something your teammates don’t know about you?

I’m a big fan of Ballet. My daughter has studied since she was four. Seeing an artist perform who’s mastered their craft is impressive. I would put their determination, discipline, and athleticism up against any other sport. When done at the highest level, it’s beautiful to watch.

Who is your role model and why?

My Father. He always had my back and instilled in me a strong work ethic. He told me something that has always stuck with me. If your company has your back and pays you a fair wage, then give them 110%. You owe it to yourself, and you owe it to them.

What is your favorite thing about Xpress Technologies culture?

We are never afraid to swim against the current. We are not afraid of technology, but instead, want to be the leaders of it. We take the chances that others fear, which leads us to results others will never achieve. Be a leader, the world is full of followers. I truly believe our platform and our people are what set us apart.

What are you most passionate about?

Seeing others succeed. I’ve been blessed to manage some great people. Seeing them grasp the concepts, mold them into their own, and flourish is the best part of my job.  

How has your role at Xpress Technologies evolved?

I started as a carrier sales rep. Having been in the seat of those I manage molded me into the leader I am today. I can empathize with both the rep and carriers to create symbiotic solutions. At Xpress Technologies we are striving to create long-term relationships with carriers molded by true partnerships.

What is your quote of the week?  

“With your shield or on it”.

What 3 words would you describe your personality best? 

Approachable, dedicated, and I’d like to think funny. The jury is still out on the last.
